Erosion Control and Restoration

Management and control of erosion has become a challenge since settled agriculture was established. Until now, erosion and restoration control are top priority issues with most national research organizations in the fields of land resources, agronomy, hydrology and agricultural engineering. The study of erosion has gone a long way and achieved many results. The focus of 20th century research is on measuring and predicting the rate of erosion and the direct effects on agricultural production. Some effects of erosion on water quality, pollution, natural disasters, etc. are also mentioned. Soil erosion will continue to be a challenge to sustainable management of land and water resources in the 21st century.

This workshop invites best practices in terms of erosion control and restoration from Brazil, Japan, and Vietnam.
