K-water – Vietnam Special Session: “Korea Water Management Experience and Lesson”

Korea has achieved high economic growth for the last half century. Behind this economic growth in Korea was effective water management. In the process of economic growth, Korea had been faced many water problems. We have experienced and overcome various water problems such as the problem of domestic water due to the increase in urbanization, the problem of supply of industrial water for economic growth, and river management problem due to river pollution. The experiences and lessons from Korea can provide implications for approaching water problems in Vietnam growing economy and population

Through this session, we will share Korea’s experience in terms of water management for the past 50 years and seek to solve the water problem in Vietnam together altogether. Ultimately, we intend to maintain friendly relations between Korea and Vietnam and to promote water cooperation projects in Vietnam.
